How long have you been a part of the Dallas Design District?
The Artistic Tile Showroom opened in the Design District 10 years ago this year, in 2014.
Tell us about the background of Artistic Tile and how the Dallas Design District Showroom came to be.
When Artistic Tile was launched in 1987, Nancy Epstein transformed the luxury design industry by offering an incomparable selection of stone, glass, and ceramic tile. She further impressed the industry by creating showrooms to display tile in a new manner: featuring full-size, full-wall vignettes that would show designers, architects, and their clients precisely how beautiful these tiles would look in baths, kitchens, and other spaces.
Dallas is Artistic Tile’s 8th national showroom, which found its footing very quickly. Dallas’ history as a luxury mercantile center, at the meeting point of the West and the South, made it a natural choice, and the Design District, filled with so many showrooms across the décor spectrum, was a perfect place for Artistic Tile.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Dallas Design District neighborhood?
The variety of showrooms in the District, while each different, are unified in their level of quality and high design. It is a privilege to be a part of a strong design community.
What can visitors expect when they visit the Artistic Tile Dallas Design District showroom?
An exquisitely curated collection of the most exceptional natural stone and tile sourced from around the world, as well as custom offerings, made entirely in-house at our Secaucus, NJ headquarters. The showroom is staffed with our experienced design experts who guide projects from start to finish.
Can you share the design philosophy or style that your showroom is known for?
Artistic Tile offers timelessly appealing natural stone and tile, designs that are beyond “trend”. Our tile and stone is meant to be enjoyed for decades, even generations. We design spaces for longevity.
In your opinion, what sets Artistic Tile apart from other local and national showrooms?
Artistic Tile offers a wide variety of stocked tile, a breathtaking collection of natural stone slabs - marble, quartzite, onyx, travertine, and more, and customization, all through one location. The Dallas showroom team are experts in maximizing all of these options to create one-of-a-kind spaces that are beyond the dreams of designers and their clients.
If you had to describe the Artistic Tile style in one word, what would it be and why?
Timeless. Artistic Tile’s designs are the product of a constant conversation between mosaic and stone used thousands of years ago and what their inspiration yields today.
Are there any upcoming trends in interior design that you're particularly excited about?
The delight of color! Brilliantly colored stone and glass is a huge part of what Artistic Tile offers. We love seeing clients embrace color in a big way.
What advice would you give to someone trying to find their own unique design style?
Look at EVERYTHING, but pay close attention to what makes YOU happy! It is your own space and it should reflect your design personality.
